TotalEnergies’ 2025 GGIP milestone joined solar and gas work

The company said all four project components had entered execution; its start-up expectations were prospective.

TotalEnergies said in September 2025 that all four components of Iraq’s Gas Growth Integrated Project had entered execution. The integrated programme includes gas recovery, a solar facility, Ratawi oil-field work and seawater supply. The electricity connection is direct through a planned 1-GWac solar plant and indirect through gas intended for power generation.

Entering execution is a construction milestone, not commissioning. The company’s early-2026 start-up expectations were forward-looking at the time and need later project evidence before they can be treated as achieved. The solar rating in alternating-current units should also not be confused with the separately stated peak panel capacity.

Iraq Business Desk’s later Artawi AG25 coverage follows one part of this wider programme. Its reported construction percentage is not evidence that every GGIP component was operating.
