World Bank talks with Iraq include solar and power infrastructure

The Electricity Ministry reports discussions on project priorities; the announcement contains no new financing amount or named solar award.

Solar initiatives featured in discussions between the World Bank and Iraq’s Electricity Ministry, according to a ministry account carried by Iraq Business News on 12 October. The meeting also addressed existing Bank-funded projects and future infrastructure priorities.

The account expresses support for cooperation without identifying a new loan, a specific solar plant or a procurement package. It therefore adds evidence of policy engagement, while leaving the scale and timing of any additional financing unspecified.
