The state-owned Trade Bank of Iraq said on 7 October that it was supplying foreign currency through official banking channels for trade and other economic activity, Shafaq News reported. The bank described exchange-rate stability as its objective. The report gives no injection amount, duration or allocation criteria.
A separate Shafaq survey published at 08:28 UTC that day put Baghdad’s central-exchange rate at IQD168,500 per $100. That observation is IQD1,685 per dollar, compared with the CBI’s announced public cash rate of IQD1,520. The survey also recorded different retail buying and selling prices in Baghdad and Erbil.
These are dated 7 October observations, not current quotations. Neither report establishes how much TBI supplied or the effect of its intervention on the official–parallel market gap.
