Iraq outlines air-defence plans as coalition mission ends

A military spokesperson describes forthcoming systems; their delivery and operational readiness remain unconfirmed.

An Iraqi military spokesperson told Rudaw that Baghdad was strengthening air defence and coordinating security with Erbil as the coalition mission ended. He described forthcoming radar, missile-defence and counter-drone systems. Rudaw says arrival and deployment of previously announced South Korean systems had not been confirmed. The report contrasts federal assurances with Kurdish concerns about protection. It establishes stated procurement plans, not operational coverage.
