Reuters reports delay to OPEC+ capacity review for 2027 quotas

Sources said the review had slipped beyond September, with one expecting completion in mid-November.

Reuters reported on 2 October, citing two unnamed sources, that OPEC+ had delayed a production-capacity assessment intended to inform 2027 quotas. One source expected completion by mid-November; OPEC had not responded to a request for comment.

The sources linked the delay to disrupted expansion projects and incomplete submissions. Reuters also reported Iraq’s interest in a higher quota. The assessment concerns sustainable capacity and future allocations; it does not itself change Iraq’s production target.
