North Oil gas-capture plan targets an extra 80 million cubic feet a day

The deputy oil minister sets a year-end 2026 volume target for three fields and an end-2027 flaring objective for North Oil operations.

Bai Hassan, North Jambur and Khabbaz are expected to provide an additional 80 million standard cubic feet of captured associated gas each day by the end of 2026, Deputy Oil Minister Izzat Saber Ismail said on 8 October, according to Shafaq News.

The official set a separate objective of eliminating flaring across North Oil Company operations by the end of 2027. The account links increased recovery to fuel for power plants and LPG production.

These are announced targets. The report does not provide field-by-field capacity, package costs, award details or a measured completion schedule for the additional recovery. The volume cannot yet be counted as delivered power-sector fuel.
