Kurdish MPs seek 14.14% budget share as salary-transfer pledge is reported

The KDP parliamentary spokesman says the regional allocation and oil-production costs remain unresolved in the 2027 draft.

Kurdish representatives are seeking a 14.14% allocation for the Kurdistan Region in Iraq’s 2027 budget, against a proposed 12.67%, KDP parliamentary spokesman Daner Abdul Ghaffar said after the Finance Committee met Finance Minister Falih al-Sari on 6 October.

In Kurdistan24’s account, Abdul Ghaffar linked the requested share to census results and said no final agreement had been reached. He also identified a dispute over the production-cost allowance associated with a proposed requirement to deliver 400,000 barrels of oil a day.

The spokesman reported a ministerial commitment to send salary funding by Thursday, 8 October. That was a payment pledge, not confirmation of a completed transfer. The disagreement over the annual allocation remained separate from the immediate salary-funding commitment.
